In Telegram messenger found the problem – a vulnerability that provides access to plain-text messages and media users, which are usually encrypted.
It is reported by Bleeping Computer.
“Telegram keeps your messages in natashabrowny SQLite database. At least I didn’t have to make any effort to find the key,” said an American engineer Nathaniel Sachi.
He noted that the Telegram uses “a little difficult to read, but nesusipratimu SQLite database”.
While multimedia data and a “secret chat” also fall into this base. That is, all the messages are in the same database, regardless of whether they receive the advantage of end-to-end encryption.
In addition, Sachi has gained access to names and phone numbers, which in theory can be mapped to each other.
